Uptown Restaurant Loses Alcohol License For One Month

Uptown Restaurant Loses Alcohol License For One Month

No alcoholic beverages will be sold at Santa Fe Tapas on St. Charles Ave. for 30 days, starting March 23.

The Uptown Messenger reports the suspension of the restaurant's alcoholic permit comes after it was found that Santa Fe did not follow a 2013 agreement with the City of New Orleans to "reduce the impact" of large crowds there on weekends.

A new agreement between Santa Fe and the city will require the restaurant to stop offering certain drink specials, have an NOPD detail officer on weekends, and make sure trash is picked up.

The rules laid out in the 2013 agreement are also still in effect.

If Santa Fe is once again found in violation, the restaurant would lose its liquor license for six months.
