Now that David Vitter has announced his candidacy for governor, what is state Treasurer John Kennedy going to do? Will he run for governor or seek re-election as treasurer?
Louisiana Pollster Bernie Pinsonat tells 99.5FM he thinks Kennedy will run for governor.
"Most of us think Kennedy will continue to say he's running. He's not gonna give up on this job. He's raising money to run for it. Most of us think he's tired of being treasurer, he wants to be governor," Pinsonat said.
Beating Vitter would be a tough challenge for Kennedy, says Pinsonat, as both are conservative Republicans and would be vying for the same voters.
"His big problem is he's running against now someone who has the same political philosophy: very conservative, and very few people have ever been able to out Vitter David Vitter," Pinsonat said.
