Golden Meadow Cop Charged In Meth Probe Resigns From Force

A Golden Meadow police officer, his girlfriend and his brother have been charged with manufacturing methamphetamine for personal use.

37-year-old officer Ashley Pollard has resigned from the department.  Also arrested were his 31-year-old girlfriend, Anna King and his 33-year-old brothr, Courtney Pollard.

The investigation began in April.

During questioning on Monday, Ashley Pollard allegedly confessed to manufacturing meth for his personal use, telling investigators he used it to help cope with post-traumatic stress disorder he says he developed during overseas deployments with both the U.S. Army and the U.S. Marine Corps.

Lafourche Parish Sheriff's deputies reportedly discovered evidence of the manufacturing process during a search of Pollard's home in Cut Off.

Pollard has resigned from the Golden Meadow Police Department.

Golden Meadown PD Reggie Pitre issued a statement in which he said the department "has no tolerance for criminal behavior, and we want to reassure the public that this officer's actions are not a reflection on our department as a whole."

"My sincere hope is that this ultimately results in him getting the treatment and help he needs," Pitre said in the statement.
